Background
Dr. Pearson holds a Master of Science Degree in Preventive Health and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, both from the University of Mississippi. From 2003 to 2010 she served in the MSDH Office of Emergency Planning and Response, where she was responsible for public health emergency planning and ensuring continuity of the pharmaceutical supply chain during emergencies. She has played key roles in the Department of Health's Katrina relief efforts, the Novel H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine readiness program, and maintenance of the state's strategic stockpiles of medicines and vaccines.
