Dr. Whitt received her Doctor of Health Administration degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Master's in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before joining MSDH, she played a leading role at the Mississippi Public Health Institute, and has extensive experience at a number of community-based organizations, foundations, non-profits and state government agencies. She has also served on a host of local, regional, and national boards promoting state and national health.
