Barrontown Utility Association has issued a Boil-Water Alert for customers who receive their drinking water from their water supply located in Forrest County.

This is a precautionary notice. This notice is the result of a line extension/upgrade performed on the water system and repair to an existing water main. Residents will be notified immediately when the advisory is lifted. For more information customers may contact 601-544-3553 or visit https://www.barrontownwater.org/.

When a distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water. Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
